"Lu You E Shu Bian" was written by Wang Yun at his old age, the contents of which are phonetic notation, interpretation, collation about classical books. We take it as the material of our research, and take exegesis theory as the basic of our research, and rely on previous research results to pursue its exegetical details and exegetical method.In "Lu You E Shu Bian", Wang Yun used the method of phonetic notation include " zhi yin","fan qie" to make phonetic notation for the Chinese words which are pronounced differently in the past and the present, ancient and modern Chinese characters, borrowed words. And it also had wildly interpretation, including:Analysis of borrowed words, archaic and modern words, variant Chinese character; Not only to explain the meaning of the words, but also to explain the surface meaning and deep meaning of the sentences; Clarify sentences where it easily emerge ambiguities; Explain the meaning of the whole context:Explain the reason of the books named; Explain the grammar rules, such as auxiliary words, adjectives; Clarify the phenomenon of rhyme; Explain astronomical calendar, the name and description of a thing, Laws and institutions. In "Lu You E Shu Bian", Wang Yun sometimes understood the meaning of the words by analyzing the physical structure of Chinese characters; and he also understood the meaning of the words through the homophone and through the similar pronunciation of the words. In addition, Wang Yun understood the meaning of the words according to the context, such as the context of article, historical background, historcal facts. Third, Wang Yun applied "Ben Jiao", "Ta Jiao", "Dui Jiao", "Li Jiao" to correct the mistakes in ancient books, such as correct the false words, correct the missing words and superfluous words, correct the invert text.
