"mencius" Rhetorical Study

As one of the most important classic book of the Ru, "Mencius" (孟子) is famous for its rhetoric which is rich and vivid. In the Warring States period, the social background of contending and important representative of late Spring and Autumn period such as Confucius, exampled all of the rhetoric thought of Mencius.He not only did "Zhi yan" (知言), "Zhi lei" (知类), but also had a profound understanding of the importance of rhetoric and the utilization of rhetorical devices. With the unique rhetorical thought, "Mencius" is famous for it's height.
