Pulses is one of the most characteristic diagnostic methods in traditional Chinese medicine.It is not only plays an important role ,but also laid the basis for traditional Chinese medical diagnostics.It is hard to know the Pulses founder,but in "Nei Jing" and "Nan Jing" the Pulses already has a more complete treatise,"Nei Jing" proposes "sanbujiuhou diagnostic methods","renyingcunkou diagnostic methods","twelve jing diagnostic methods","chicun diagnostic methods","semai diagnostic methods" and many other co-diagnosis methods, "Nan jing "first creats Duqucunkou. Pulse can be said that the origin of "Nei Jing"and "Nan jing" plays an important role in the pulses development process.Shanghan Theory "is one of the Chinese classics, which is also the oldest one in the history of the syndrome differentiation system of medical monographs.In the entire "Shanghan Zabing Lun" Zhang Zhong jing's Whole conception and Differential Treatment Bianzheng Lun zhiare always thinking xthroughout, so that not only makes the book more features, but also has far-reaching influence in development of Chinese medicine. Although the pulse method in the "Shanghan Lun" is a part of the Zhongjing syndrome differentiation Bianzheng shi zhi, which is extremely detailed. Zhang Zhongjing mentioned in the preface: "learning ancient experience deligently, and the gathering public Prescriptions widely,combined SuWen JiuJuan BaShiyinan YinYangdalun TaiLuyaolu and PingMaibianzheng into Shanghan Zabing Lun clap sixteen volumes."From here,we can attest, Zhongjing completed such a masterpiece,which had refered to and learnt from lots of ancient books, some books have not been handed down, such as" flat pulse dialectic,"which specific content has not been known . The posterity made more researchs on Zhang zhongjing"s pulse idea,because the combination of pulse and symptom offer great value for clinical disease diagnosis.The data which currently studys on "Shanghan Lun" are mostly concentrated in the more distinctive single pulse study,but lack of a systematic comprehensive and protruding of the outstanding characteristics of the Zhongjing pulse is not enough , but also short of comnination of clinical practice. For these reasons,this article makes more comprehensive collation and research.First, this article generaly describes the origin of pulse studies, and proposes the sources relationship among the Shanghan Lun and Nei Jing and Nan jing.Secondly,it classificates and analyzes the Pulse. Finally, it analyzes the provisons about the combination of pulse and symptom,and pulse of critical symptoms in Shanghan Lun.
