Winter Disease Acupoint Sticking Therapy On The Prevention And Treatment Of Chronic Bronchitis, Acute Episodes Of Clinical Observation,

From the Chinese medicine theory and clinical research, this paper systematicly studies the prevention and treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (AECB) using the methods of treat winter diseases in summer with acupoint application.Methods:All patients were collected from Department of Respiratory Medicine clinic in Dongfang Hospital attached to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from June 2009 to July 2009, who were of clinical paracmasis with chronic bronchitis (CB).100 Clinical records were included, which was divided into treatment group (50 patients) and controlled group (50 patients) randomly. Patients in both groups were ordered to use western standards of treatment, and treatment group also use the methods of treat winter diseases in summer with acupoint application.Results:Before treatment, two groups had no statistics difference in the score of Traditional Chinese Medicine's (TCM's) symptoms last year, such as cough, expectoration and shortness of breath, while the time of common cold and acute exacerbation was also had no significant difference. After treatment, TCM's symptoms like cough, expectoration and shortness of breath were all released before the treatment, and the total point of the complex effect in the treatment group was better than the controlled group (There was significant difference). The individual point of the treatment group was also better than that in the controlled group (There is significant difference), while the scores have no remarkable change in the controlled group. The time of common cold and acute exacerbation in the treatment group was also lower than that in the controlled group (There is significant difference), while the scores have no remarkable change in the controlled group.The two groups had no statistics difference in the route of administration and categories of drugs last year, after treatment, the treatment group had significant difference in the route of administration, and had difference in categories of drugs, while the controlled group had no remarkable changes on the two aspects.The two groups had no statistics difference in the approach of treatment last year, after treatment, the treatment group had significant difference in the approach of treatment, while the controlled group had no remarkable changes, and the approach of treatment had significant differences in the two groups.Referring to the patients in the treatment group, there were three patterns of syndrome:the deficiency of the lung, the deficiency of the spleen, and the deficiency of the kidney. Before treatment, three groups also had no statistics difference in the score of TCM' s symptoms last year, and the time of common cold and acute exacerbation was had no significant difference either. After treatment, compared with before, the weakness of the lung and the weakness of the kidney groups had significant difference in the TCM' s symptoms, the time of common cold and acute exacerbation. However, the weakness of the spleen group had no significant difference on the above aspects.Discussion:The methods of treat winter diseases in summer with acupoint application can not only improve the symptoms such as cough, expectoration, shortness of breath, but also reduce the time of AECB and common cold. Now the treatment of CB is still lack of effective drugs and methods, however, TCM, which have the holistic concept and Treatment with syndrome differentiation, continues its advantage of the treatment on CB.
