Aim:Fructs foeniculi is the dry mature fruit that is from Umbelliferae plants(Foeniculum vulgare Mill).The efficacy of fructs foeniculi is to disperse cold,treat pain,reconcile spleen and stomach.Fructs foeniculi fried with salt is often used in clinical,but the process parameters are incomplete and the quality standard is not perfect,so I make a further study in order to make the processing technology and the quality standard standardized.Material and Methods:Material:fructs foeniculi was purchased in Dalian chinese herbal medicines market,it has been identified as the dry mature fruit which is from Umbelliferae plants(Foeniculum vulgate Mill.).Fructs foeniculi fried with salt:it was made refering to the 2005 Pharmacopoeia.Reference substance:trans-anethole(the purity is more than 99.8%)Methods:1.Literature research:use manual and machine retrieval methods to search the ancient and modern information about the fructs foeniculi.2.Processing technology research:use trans-anethole and water-soluble extract as indicators,through single factor and orthogonal experiment to selecte the best reasonable process.3.Quality standard:use HPLC to determine the trans-anethole in the processed and unprocessed product,also determine the microscopic identification,TLC,water,ash, acid-insoluble ash etc.4.Inorganic elements research:use ICP-MS to detect the inorganic elements of fructs foeniculi and the fructs foeniculi fried with salt.5.Studies on the chemical constituents:use silica gel column chromatography and TLC separation methods to separate the ethyl acetate part of the processed product.And use the spectrum to analysis the structure of the compounds. Results:1.The optimal procedure was set:each 100 kg fructs foeniculi use the salt 2 kg mixed thoroughly,heating at 110~120℃for 4 minutes.2.Established the quality standards of two samples.The content of trans-anethole in unprocessed sample is not less than 1.4%and not less than 1.2%in the processed sample.3.Most elements of fructs foeniculi and fructs foeniculi fried with salt are not changed.The essential elements are all high.The harmful elements are in line with the provisions.4.Extracted and isolated the ethyl acetate part of the processed sample,get five compounds,they areβ-Sitosterol,Daucosterol,Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate,5-methoxy-7-hydroxyl coumarin,Oleanolic acid.Conclusion:1.The optimal technology was verified reasonable and feasible.2.It is first time to use HPLC to determine the trans-anethole in fructs foeniculi and the fructs foeniculi fried with salt.the method was confirmed simple and feasible.3.It is first time to analysis the compound of the ethyl acetate part of the processed sample, compound 4 is the first time isolated in this species.
