Purpose: Research on the self-confidence of the elderly and psycho-socialfactors, personality, social support, and other factors related to depression in the elderly role in the pathogenesis, on the elderly for clinical depression for targeted interventions to provide research basis.methods the use of statistical packages on SPSS10.0 survey data forstatistical single-factor analysis of variance of more relevant factors in the normal old age group, mild depression in the elderly group, and severe depression in the group aged impact, and double comparative study of the depression in the elderly factor in the role. The establishment of multiple linear regression equation to find meaningful factor, compared with the Beta elderly depression factor on the size of the role, using correlation analysis and exploration of the relationship between each factor.Results: In the comparison study of the three groups it is show that familyhistory of mental illness,now suffering from physical disease,vascular risk factors,the long-term plight of the,personality factor scores and the elderly sense of happiness scores role played in the elderly depression in the pathogenesis by the difference statistically significant.Conclusion: The results suggested that the incidence of senile depressionand family history of mental illness are suffering from physical disease, vascular risk factors, the long-term plight of the N personality factor scores and scores of older persons related to such factors as confidence.
