PartⅠObservation on the symmetry of the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points on healthy subjectsObjective To observe the temperatures and blood flow perfusion volumes of facial acupuncture points on healthy subjects.To analyze the symmetry of the temperatures and blood flow perfusion volumes of symmetric facial acupuncture points on healthy subjects.Method The temperatures were observed by infrared thermography and the blood flow perfusion volumes were investigated by Laser Doppler perfusion imaging.The data was processed by an image analyzing software and the results were analyzed statistically.Result On healthy subjects,the highest temperature was on Cuanzhu(BL2) of both sides,35.3±0.75℃;the lowest on the left Jiache(ST6),34.25±1.22℃.The highest blood flow perfusion volume was on the right Cuanzhu(BL2),1.29±0.42 PU;the lowest on the right Sizhukong(SJ23),0.76±0.30 PU.The temperature difference and blood flow perfusion volume difference were little and there was no significant statistical difference on the self comparing of the two kinds of differences.Conclusion(1) the blood flow perfusion volumes of facial acupuncture points are related to the regional superficial capillary vessels.The blood flow perfusion volume is greater if the superficial capillary vessels at this area are more concentrated;vice versa.The temperatures of facial acupuncture points-are related to the position and the metabolization of regional organs.The temperature is higher if the acupuncture point is closer to an important facial organ or the metabolization of regional organ is better; vice versa.Difference on the temperatures and blood flow perfusion volumes was observed between the symmetric acupuncture points but the difference was little so that the symmetry of the temperatures and blood flow perfusion volumes on healthy subjects can be considered to be good.PartⅡObservation of the symmetry of facial acupuncture points on peripherial facial hemiplegia patientsObjective To analyze the effect of the acupuncture process on the symmetry of facial acupuncture points by observing the images of infrared thermography of 48 peripherial facial hemiplegia patients during three steps:beginning of disease,curing process and after healing.Method the temperatures were observed by infrared thermography.The data was processed by an image analyzing software and the results were analyzed statistically.Result the temperature difference of symmetric facial acupuncture points on peripherial facial hemiplegia patients was higher than healthy subjects.By statistical analysis,the data of all selected acupuncture points,except Yingxiang(LI20), Yangbai(GB14),Jiachengjiang,had statistical difference(P<0.05);during the curing process,the temperature difference was reduced comparing to the beginning of disease.The statistical analysis showed that the data of Juliao(ST3),Chengqi(ST1) and Sibai(ST2) had statistical difference(P<0.05);the temperature difference on healed patients was close to that of healthy subjects.Conclusion the temperature difference of symmetric acupuncture points of the peripherial facial hemiplegia patients was greater than healthy subjects and the temperature symmetry was not good;the acupuncture process can adjust the temperature difference of patients.The temperature difference was reduced as the disease got better;the temperature difference became close to that of healthy subjects when the patients were healed. PartⅢRegulation of acupuncture process on the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points of healthy subjects.Objective to observe the regulation on the symmetry of the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of symmetric facial acupuncture points by acupuncture and moxibustion on the acupuncture point Hegu(LI4) of both sides.To analyze the mechanism of the acupuncture effect on the temperaturc and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points.Method Stimulating the acupuncture points Hegu(LI4) of both sides by acupuncture and moxibustion,setting up a reference group of natural fluctuation,observing the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points before and after the acupuncture,the moxibustion and the natural fluctuation by infrared thermography and Laser Doppler perfusion imaging.The data was processed by an image analyzing software and the results were analyzed statistically.Result(1)change of temperature of facial acupuncture points before and after the acupuncture:after the acupuncture on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,most of temperatures of facial acupuncture points increased.The increase of temperature on the left Juliao(ST3) was the greatest,0.81±0.44℃on average;the increase of temperature on the right Yingxiang(LI20) was the fewest,0.09±0.28℃on average.After the moxibustion on Hegu of both sides,most of temperatures of facial acupuncture points increased.The increase of temperature on the right Quanliao(SI18) and the right Jiache(ST6) were the greatest,0.78±0.61℃,0.79±0.69℃on average.The increase of temperature on Yangbai(GB14) were the fewest,almost zero for the Yangbai(GB14). In the reference group,the the temperature didn't change a lot.The temperature difference on Chengqi(ST1) was the greatest,0.35±0.23℃at 0 min and 30 min.(2)change of the temperature symmetry of facial acupuncture points after the acupuncture:after the acupuncture on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,the temperature difference of facial acupuncture point changed.The temperature difference on Yingxiang(LI20) and Chengqi(ST1) increased a little.The temperature difference on the selected acupuncture points were reduced obviously,especially on Dicang(ST4), Sibai(ST2) and Sizhukong,were 0.21±0.10℃,0.21±0.18℃,0.22±0.47℃on average; after the moxibustion on Hegu(LI6) of both sides,the temperature difference of facial acupuncture points changed.The temperature were reduced frankly on the selected acupuncture points,especially on Dicang(ST4),0.20±0.33℃on average;in the reference group the temperature difference didn't change on healthy subjects.The greatest temperature difference was on Jiachengjiang,0.04℃on average.(3)change of blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points before and after the acupuncture:after the acupuncture on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,most of the blood flow perfusion volumes increased.The increase of blood flow perfusion volume on the left Jiachengjiang was the greatest,0.29±0.22 PU.The increase of blood flow perfusion volume on the right Chengqi(ST1) was fewer,0.02±0.23PU.After the moxibustion on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,most of the blood flow perfusion volumes increased,especially on Quanliao(SI18).,the blood flow perfusion volume increased by 0.30±0.29 PU on the left Quanliao(SI18) and 0.31±0.23 PU on the right Quanliao,(SI18).The increase of blood flow perfusion volume on the right Sizhukong was the fewest,0.13±0.14 PU.In the natural influctuation group,most of the blood flow perfusion volumes on healthy subjects increased a little,less than 0.10 PU.the blood flow perfusion volume on the left Dicang(ST4) increased mostly,0.10±0.13PU. The blood flow perfusion volumes were reduced only on the left Juliao(ST3) and the right Qianzheng.(4)change of the symmetry of the blood flow perfusion volume before and after the acupuncture:after the acupuncture on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,the blood flow perfusion volume differences were reduced frankly,especially on Sibai(ST2), 0.09±0.15PU.After the moxibustion on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,the blood flow perfusion volume difference increased a little on Sibai(ST2),Yangbai(GB14), Cuanzhu(BL2),Sizhukong(SJ23) and Qianzheng.On the other selected acupuncture points,the volume differences were reduced frankly,especially on Juliao(ST3), 0.10±0.12 PU.In the natural influctuation group,the blood flow perfusion volumes didn't change obviously.The greatest change was on Qianzheng,0.05±0.12 PU.According to the stastical analysis,after the acupuncture,the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points increased,the data was significant statistically(P<0.05,P<0.01);after the moxibustion,the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points increased,the data was significant statistically(P<0.05,P<0.01);in the natural influctuation group,the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume changed little,the data was not significant statistically(P>0.05).After the acupuncture and the moxibustion on Hegu(LI4) of both sides,the temperature difference and the blood flow perfusion volume difference were reduced. The data of all selected acupuncture points were not significant statistically(P>0.05) except the acupuncture data of temperature difference on Dicang(ST4), Sibai(ST2),Jiachengjiang;the acupuncture data of blood flow perfusion volume difference on Sibai(ST2);the moxibustion data of temperature difference on Juliao(ST3),Quanliao(SI18),Daying(ST5),Qianzheng;the moxibustion data of blood flow perfusion volume difference on Juliao(ST3),Yingxiang(LI20),Quanliao(SI18).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion can adjust the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points:acupuncture and moxibustion can increase the temperature and blood flow perfusion volume of facial acupuncture points on healthy subjects;acupuncture and moxibustion can reduce the temperature difference and blood flow perfusion volume difference.The mechanism of the regulation on temperature and blood flow perfusion volume is related to the expansion of vessels on acupuncture points caused by the sympathetic nerves or the metabolization of regional organs.This regulation can act differently on human body according to the physiological state,in order to achieve a state of "balance of yin and yang".
