Plant polyphenols are important secondarymetabolic substances, which widely exist in the bodies of plants, the special structure of polyphenols make them have many physiological medical functions, like anti-arteriosclerosis, anti-oxigenation, anti-cancer, anti-bacteriuamn,preventing and healing coronary heart disease and apoplexy, and so on. It is being considered by some people as the seventh nutriment after the sixth nutriment of meal fibre. It is applied to a certain extent in the field of food, medical, cosmetic, daily chemistry and health care products. With the rising trend of exploiting natural products, plant polyphenols become the focus of present researchment, they are called gold mines waiting for exploration.Acer plants belong to Aceraceae which mainly produced in temperate zone of north earth. China is a country rich in Acer plants, and a country with most types of Acer plants in the world. Most Acer plants are valuable as medicine, and rich in compound of polyphenols. At present, researchments have been made on the types and content of polyphenols in the leaves of only a small part of Acer plants. For the purpose of exploiting the resource of Acer plants fully, reasonably, and sentificly, and for the purpose of further exploiting and using rich resource of Acer plants in China, it is necessary and significent to continue researching polyphenols extraction methods and polyphenols content measurement in leaves of Acer plants.Microwave extraction technology is a new technology which can improve extraction rate by using microwave energy, and it has the merits of short time period, efficient and energy saving. This article builts the best technics conditions for microwave extracting Acer plants in the leaves of Acer truncatum and other Acer plants, and builds new methods of stably and actually HPLC anlysising content of polyphenols of Acer plants, by further purifying polyphenols from microwave extraction and analysising the type and content of polyphenols with HPLC methods, which can be a support to exploit Acer plants resource of China.In chapter one, it introduces the present status of researchment and application of Acer plants resource, the medical and food function of Acer plants and research development of extraction and examination.In chapter two, it discusses the extraction technology researches of plants from the leaves of Acer truncatum and other 12 types of Acer plants.In chapter three, it presents a new HPLC method which can analyze simultaneously the type and content of Acer truncatum polyphenols ,further analyzes the content of different months Acer truncatum leaves polyphenols by using HPLC .In chapter four, it presents two HPLC methods which can analyze the type and content of Acer plants polyphenols , after extraction and purification of 11 types of Acer plants polyphenols from their leaves.Summary.
