Ii, Type Iii Pilon Fractures Surgical Treatment Strategies

Objective:To summarize retrospectively the clinical therapeutic effects of Pilon fractures and discuss different procedures for typeâ…¡â…¢Pilon fracture.Methods:32 cases of Pilon fracture were treated with limited open reduction,internal fixation and external fixation or with open reduction and internal fixation.Results:All patients were got followed up.According to Mazur function assessment system,the curative effect was excellent in 16 patients,good in 12,fair in 3 and poor in 1,the excellent and good rate was 87.5%.Conclusion:Pilon fracture is a common intra-articular fracture.According to the traditional therapeutic principles of Pilon fracture,the key to treat it was restoration of length and anatomic reduction of fibula,the anatomic reduction of distal tibial joint,bone grafting of metaphysic,rigid internal fixation.We should evaluation the type of fracture and the injury of soft tissue,choose the right timing and procedure of surgery,and avoid the complications of the surrounding soft tissue.
