Chronic Kidney Disease And Atherosclerosis In Western Progress

In the previous research,chronic kidney disease and atherosclerosis were carried out in-depth research as disease of two different systems.The results show that there are a variety of cross-linked parts and co-morbidity,part of which have been fully known.For example,atherosclerosis is one of the most important complications of chronic kidney disease,atherosclerotic can cause renal artery stenosis and renal dysfunction,atherosclerosis can cause hypertensive renal damage and so on.At the same time,there are many connon risk factors in both,such as hypertension,lipid disorders, diabetes,inflammation,oxidative stress,the RAAS activation,endothelial cell dysfunction and so on.The recent study also found that main artery stiffness and the level of serum creatinine were correlated independently.All of them indicated that the two disease areclosely related to each other.This article has summarized and explained the relationship between the chronic kidneydisease and atherosclerosis from the literature review andclinical study.In the part of literature we has reviewed recent domestic and foreign research of traditional Chinese and western medicine about chronic kidney disease and atherosclerosis.And we also investigated common disease mechanism,interacting factors and clinical links between the two diseases in the modern medical research.On the other hand,we try to analyse and discusse the relationship between them combining with traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern medical,in order to elucidate their relationship from the perspective of integrated traditional and western medicine.In the clinical research,we has studied the primary renal glomerulus nephrosis patient's arteriosclerosis index(ABI and baPWV)and the relationship between the arteriosclerosis index and urine protein or renal dysfunction.In the research,the 45 cases of primary renal glomerulus nephrosis patients were took as the study object who had been in China-Japan Friendship Hospital from October 2008 to March 2009,and the 60 healthy cases were took as the control group through examination.Then we measured arteriosclerosis index(ABI and baPWV)of the two group separately using Japan arteriosclerosis recognizer.The result showed that primary renal glomerulus nephrosis patient's baPWV and iBIare higher than the normal Control group.Simple correlation and partial correlation analysis showed that baPWV and creatinine clearance rate was negatively correlated,which is coincident with the literature reported abroad.However, it disaccorded with the reports at present in which iBI was negatively correlated with GFR(but no linear relationship).But no correlation of indicators was found between the 24-hour urinary protein and atherosclerosis.Overall the result showed that atherogenic index of the primary renal glomerulus nephrosis patient is higher than the normal group.And along with the kidney function's decrease,the atherosclerosis showed the aggravation tendency,which indicated pronounced correlation between them.Obviously this research has prompted the renal dysfunction associated with arteriosclerosis.However due to the small sample size,the study has certain limitations inevitably.In the part of result some positive trends were shown but no statistical differences.So it remains to be large-scale,prospective study to further confirm.In brief,it will be helpful to prevent and control the incidence rates of both arteriosclerosis and the chronic kidney disease and their complications timely and effectively throughresearching the relationship in-depth.Meanwhile, it's feasible for the further preventive treatment of combination of Traditional Chinese and Western medicine and for the intervention research.
