PurposeTo learn nurses'professional commitment, present situation of burnout ,explore the relationship of personality, professional commitment and burnout. To provide the basis of nursing education and nursing management , so as to enhance the quality of clinical care and their service, thus promoting the stability of nurse troops and enhancing the status of nurse..Methodthree hospitals randomly selected from the six Taiyuan top-three ones, classified into medcine and surgery, women, children, emergency, operating theatres, ICU seven administrative offices, randomly draw a sample of all the corresponding sections of the post nurses who work for over one year, total of 378 for the study. A survey was conducted by research of questionnaires, including the self general questionnaire, personality questionnaire, the nursing profession commitment and job burnout questionnaire (MBI-GS). Results were described by SPSS12.0 software package through statistical analysis, t tests, variance analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and other statistical methods for data analysis.ResultsLow score was gained by aspirations and positive evaluation of clinical nurses professional career, high score by emotional exhaustion and cynicism. The Features of professional commitment in different groups of nurses in the distribution showed: the nurses who are 25 to 29 years old, work for 11 to 20 years, ICU, Senior nurse, married, with more than 3,000 yuan monthly salary , secondary education got lower score in professional commitment. The Features of burnout in different groups of nurses in the distribution showed: the nurses who are 30 to 40 years old, working for 6 to 10 years, ICU, Senior nurse, married, and with more than 3,000 yuan monthly salary and secondary education got higher score in burnout. Neuroticism and the spirit were negatively correlated with the four dimensions of professional commitment, positively correlated with emotional exhaustion and cynicism, negatively correlated with low sense of achievement. The hide was positively correlated with the four dimensions of professional commitment , negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion, cynicism , and positively correlated with low sense of achievement . The inside and outside was positively correlated with professional career aspirations and low sense of achievement; The four dimensions of professional commitment were negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion and cynicism, while positively correlated with low achievement.Nature of hide and Neuroticism had significant impact on professional efforts, positive professional evaluation, the value of professional recognition and cynicism; Nature of hide, nervousness, internal and external had obvious impact on the involvement of professional career aspirations. Latitude of emotional exhaustion had significant impact by neuroticism and the spirit ; Nature of hide, inside and outside, the spirit had the combined effects on the low sense of achievement. Professional efforts, including professional career aspirations and positive professional career evaluation will have emotional impact on emotional exhaustion; The more professional commitment results in the less cynicism; Value of professional recognition and professional efforts will affect the low sense of achievement significantly .Conclusion1. clinical nurse have lower professional commitment and a higher job burnout. ICU, for division titles, married, low education and high salary for nurses is the key targets of intervention.2. Personality have a certain predictability to professional commitment and job burnout.3. Professional commitment have a strongly predictability to job burnout.
