This prescription has been using very videly. It can cure many diseases belong to different areas, such as internalmedicine, surgery, gynecology and pediatrics. Many scholars have been studying on it, and the curative effects are satisfactory. But they didn't discuss it excectly what are diagnostic indexes about XiaoXianxiongTang. In order to solve this problem, we should study the proved cases about XiaoXianxiongTang, discover some regularities and make the symptomst and ards about it.In the department of literature review, we make a summary of Xiao Xian xiongTang about its prescription elucidation and application. We don't only discussed it but also expround our views about it. It is a recipe that has the effect of has the effect of clearing away heat and resovlving phlegm, regulating qi and dispersing stagnation, and it is used widely. We also make a literaturere view about clinical applications and experimental researches. And discuss some problems that exist now.In the department of proved cases research, we select 215 proved cases about XiaoXianxiongTang that are reported whether in China or otherlands, in ancient times or today. We did a statistical analysis of general conditions, symptoms, tongues and pulses,and we draw a conclutiong about diagnostic indexes of XiaoXianxiongTang, that is,abdominal pain or no pain but rejection to pressing,abdominal stuffiness, constipation, oral bitter feeling, cough, eructation, chest distress, vomiting, poor appetite, thirst, red tongue, yellowish and greasytongue coating, taut pulse or slippery pulse or rapid pulse;General dosage of drugs is coptisroot 3-10g, pinelliatuber 9-12g, trichosanthes fruit 15-30g. The modified drugs almost have the effect of regulating qi or clearing away heat or resolving phlegm or promoting blood circulation;XiaoXianxiongTang can treat most of alimentary system,respiratory system and circulatory system dieases.In the third part, we discuss the use of XiaoXianxiongTang in diabetes mellitus fields. The treatment of DM by XiaoXianxiongTang embodies the academic thoughts about treating DM through"phlegm","heat", and"qistagnation"in TCM. In this part, we described the oremic origin, modern research, clinic application about it. And we draw a conclusion that"phlegm","heat",and"qistagnation"has very important effect on pathogenesis, evolution of pathogenesis and prognosis of DM. The treatment of"phlegm","heat", and"qistagnation"is a very important link on treating DM. XiaoXianxiongTang has the effect of clearing away heat and resovlving phlegm, regulating qi and dispersing stagnation, so it plays a important role in DM fields. At last we discuss the experience of professor ZhaoJinxi about using XiaoXianxiongTang to treat DM.
