Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and security of sodium hyaluronate intra-articular injection in treatment of OA of knees.Methods One hundred and twelve patients(112 knees) suffered from OA were treated by sodium hyaluronate injection intra-articular once a week,totally five times.We used HAD questionaire,age and WOMAC Index to divide into groups. We asked patients to write WOMAC Index and questionaire of knee joint daily activities and helped them to complete,then we used analysis of variance to evaluate the clinical effect and security.Results Whatever groups,WOMAC Index and questionaire of knee joint daily activities have a statistics significance among pretherapy,two weeks after therapy and four weeks after therapy.LSD test display that between pretherapy and two weeks a-fter therapy there is a statistics significance and between pretherapy and f-our weeks after therapy there is a statistics significance. there is not a statistics significance between two weeks after therapy and four weeks after therapy in age groups and HAD questionaire groups.Conclusion Intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate has a positive effect after two weeks treatment of OA of knees.WOMAC Index and questionaire of knee joint dailyactivities have the same effect in evaluating OA of knees.
