Epilepsy Factors In Glioma Clinical Analysis

Objective:To analyze some factors producing the epileptic seizure in the patients with gliomas.Method:The clinical.neuroimaging and pathological data of 311 patients with gliomas were analyzed retrospectively.Results Out of 311 patients with gliomas,88 suffered from epilepsy(28.30%).The incidence of epilepsy was significantly higher in the patients with frontal and temporal tumors than that in the patients with cranial base and brain deep tumors(P＜0.05).The incidence of epilepsy in patients with low—grade gliomas was significantly higher than that in the patients with high-grade gliomas(P＜0.05).The tumor calcification and the cortex involved by tumor also were factors producing epilepsy in the patients with gliomas.Conclusions:The incidence of epilepsy in the patients with gliomas is related to the pathological type of the tumors,intracerebral location of the tumor and the tumor calcification.
