Traditional dressings have been used to cover wounds for a long time. There are many disadvantages of traditional dressings such as low permeability, discomfort, poor solubility and low compatibility. New types of dressings have been developed to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional dressings.Moisturizing dressing is a new kind of dressing. It can keep the wound exudate, provide the healing environment and accelerate the wound healing.According to the characteristics of moisturizing dressings, fabrics are compacted to increase the tightness and the fabric counts in order to decrease the moisture permeability.PLA is a new kind of ecological fiber. It has a good compatibility and can be decomposed by microorganisms in nature. Pollution of discarded dressings can be reduced by the development of PLA medical dressings. The research is to develop three PLA fabrics of different weaves and different fabric counts. After heat treatment, the optimum heat treatment temperature and processing period are determined by two-way varianc through the analysis of the change of permeability. It shows that PLA dressings can get the good moisturizing ability when it's heat-treated for 10 minutes at 110℃.Physical and chemical properties of the treated PLA dressings are tested. It proves that PLA dressings have a good moisturizing ability, a low diffusibility and a good skin feel. It's qualified as a successful medical moisturizing dressing. At last, the end uses of PLA dressing are determined by gray cluster analysis based on the wound healing period.
