In the last two decades ,with rapid development of industry and agriculture ,product and application of mineral increased rapidly .while we have widely attached importance to toxicity of occupation .As an import factors of environment , pathogenesis research of fibrous mineral dusts have been lasting almost a century ,but the mechanism have not been know yet. On the base , we concluded that cytotoxicyte of mineral dusts was a decisive factor of surface physical-chemical properties.We collected six fibrous mineral dusts from six different mineral deposits .Fist, we made them into ultra-liny-dusts . Second , we applied the technique of biochemistry, electrochemistry . surface-chemistry and spectrum such as infrared spectrophotometry , X-fluoroscopy , UV-spectrophotometry etal. .analyzed surface physical-chemical properties of fibrous mineral dusts such as structure , molecurlare formula, tatd , electromotive voltage , free radicals , major irons , OH- levels, PII and major chemical composition .Third , we carried out cell culture of rabbit pulmonary alveolar macrophages . Last, we observed the changes of cell death ratio , merabrous fluidity , cell electrophoresis ratio , surperoxide dismitase ( SOD) , malandialdehtde(MDA), lactate dehtdrogenate (LDH) and we adopted the technique of scanning electron Microscopy to observe change of cell shape. Our results suggested that:1 , The grainy of fibrous mineral dusts was one factor of cytotoxicity .2 The cytotoxicity of fibrous mineral dusts was positively correlated with the active OH- content in dusts.3, The cytotoxicity of fibrous mineral dusts was not necessarily so with their SiO2 content .4, The cytotoxicity of fibrous mineral dusts was not directly correlated with their surface electromotive voltage.5 , The high pH values produced by fibrous mineral dusts was unfavorable for the survival of cells .6, The content of variable-valency elements of fibrous mineral dusts may influence cytotoxitity.7, The fibrous mineral dusts with a low bio-resistance was safe for cells .8, The surface media brought between fibrous mineral dusts and cells . The innovation of the research was :1 , It was fist in the international suggested that the cytotoxicity of fibrous mineral dusts was positively correlated with the active OH" content in dusts .2, The research of surface media was fist come out with in the international .3, It was fist proved in the domestic that The cytotoxicity of fibrous mineral dusts was not necessarily so with their SiO2 content . The article filled up defect of the research between mineralogy and medical science ,and offered theoretical evidence that hygienic standard of mineral dusts was established and occupational disease was induced by mineral dusts.
