Objective:Through clinical contrast research with combination therapy of traditional Chinee and western medicine, To contrast the clinical effect and safety of sodium hyaluronate alone injecting into cavity of knee-joint with osteoarthritis patients or add zhengqinfengtongning injection injecting into.Documents and methods:According to the standard of internalizion and depletion, select eighty four cases with follow-up record. eighty four cases with polyclinic of orthopaedics from 2005.3-2007.3 in the Wuhan No. 1 hospital were divided into the treatment group and the control group randomly. The treatment group was treated with sodium hyaluronate injecting into cavity of knee-joint in the 1st,3rd,5th week(2ml/time,ltime/week), while with zhengqinfengtongning injection injecting into cavity of knee-joint in the 2nd,4th week(2ml/time,1time/week). The control group was treated with sodium hyaluronate injecting into cavity of knee-joint each week (2ml/time,1time/week). The course of both groups was 5 weeks. The period of follow-up was between 8 months and 12 months. Recorded and compared the improvement of the knee-joint function. The statistical analysis was performed by SPSS 13.0.Result:Every index was improved obviously in the treatment group and the control group in both groups after the treatment with a significant difference (P＜0.01). While the improvement in rest pain,pain of motion,joint pain, joint swelling,range of joint motion was no significant difference that inthe control group(P＞0.05). After treatment the long effectiveness of both groups was no significant difference (P＞0.05). After treatment the safety of both groups was no significant difference (P＞0.05).Conclusion:Sodium hyaluronate and zhengqinfengtongning injection injecting into cavity of knee-joint is effective in treating OA, which was equalled with sodium hyaluronate alone injecting into. And the price in treating OA is relatively lower, deserving clinical applications. But the cases of particular disease were few, it was limited to some extent to reflect the result accurately and overall.
