[Objective]With application of Geographic Information System (GIS) and spatial analysis technology, we build database of Japanese B Encephalitis (JE) in Guangxi autonomous region and do spatial study and time-dependent trend of JE. Under the frame work of Eco-epidemiology, we analyzed ecology factors such as habitats of JE's host and vector, and discuss possible environment factors that affect the spatial distribution of JE. And to discuss the application of spatial analysis technology in infectious diseases. The study offers a reference data to the ecological control and prevention strategy of JE.[Methods]Accumulative JE cases were collected from 90 counties and cities in Guangxi autonomous region through field survey and personal communication with local CDC; the 1:100M-scale topographic database of Guangxi autonomous region was purchased from the National Fundamental Geographic Information System; other data linked with forest and agriculture(including infield area, paddy field area, terraced area, humid area, forest area, forest cover rate, fruit field area), livestock(including meat gross output value, big livestock amount, pig amount), social-economic(including GDP, government income, government expenditure, rural population), climate data in each county and city of Guangxi autonomous region(including mean annual temperature, mean January temperature, mean July temperature, extremely low temperature, extremely high temperature, annual precipitation)were collected from national and provincial resources database. With application of GIS MapInfo 8.0 and spatial analysis technology, all the data were analyzed in several aspects including the spatial distribution and the time-dependent trend of JE. Statistic package SPSS is used to analyze the correlation ship between environment factors and the geographic distribution of JE cases in Guangxi autonomous region.[Result]The study results show that the spatial distribution of JE cases in Guangxi autonomous region is uneven and the cases distribution has the properties of spatial autocorrelation. The spatial autocorrelation statistics analysis also indicates that in different scales, JE cases have clustering phenomena in small spatial scale. Local spatial autocorrelation analysis shows the amount, shape, location, spatial relationship of clustering phenomena in quantization. Between the study periods, the prevalence area moved from the southeast to the northwest over the time. By correlation statistics test, the environment factors of JE including infield area, humid area, and big livestock amount, pig amount which have a closer relationship with JE prevalence.[Conclusion]JE cases have clustering phenomena in small spatial scale, this result indicates that the ecological transmission radius of JE possibly in small region which depends on the home range of victor and the action radius of people. Local spatial autocorrelation analysis shows that prevalence area are located at southeast and northwest in Guangxi autonomous region; the distribution of JE cases have a time-dependent trend that the prevalence area move form the southeast to the northwest as the time pass. There is a close relationship between environment factors and JE cases, such as infield area, humid area, big livestock amount, pig amount.
