ObjectTo find a safety,effective and easy using anti-adhesion medicine . The study was selected the digit of chicken as a animal model to research that if allantoin can effectively prevent tendon adhesion and contrast with chitosan. MethodParticipants in this study were 36 three-yellow local chickens , which were randomly divided into group A,B and control group C .The third flexor digitorum profundus tendons of the left foot were cut according to"卜"shape , then sutured by 3-0 non-injury lines using the modified KESSLER method , respectively injected drugs in group A(allantoin) group B(chitosan) and the control group C(saline). After post-operation 3wk and 6wk, the drift length of the tendons were measured by the biomechanical testing; the drift length ratios between the operation and non-operation side were computed, moreover, the microscopy was used to observe the degree of tendon adhesion and whether or not exist. According to the scope of adhesion, these outcomes were divided four degree (Best Better General Bad). The digits were tested by histological section.AnalysisThe gliding length ratios were made statistics analysis (the randomized block design). The result showed that the GA and GB were significantly higher than GC (p<0.05), but no significant different in GA and GB (p>0.05). It indicated that the GA and GB all can decrease the tendon adhesion and improve the tendon gliding capability.The consequences of the microscope showed that the adhesion degree of the GA and GB were lightly. GA (Best 2 cases Better 8 cases General 1 case Bad 0 case) GB(Best 1 case Better 7 cases General 4 cases Bad 0 case) GC(Best 0 Better 0 General 5 Bad degree 7 cases ) . The good ratios of the GA was 83.33 per, the good ratios of GB was 75 per. From the outcome, there was no significant different (p>0.05) between GA and GB. The result of histological section showed that the tendon adhesion of the GA and GB was lightly. The cure of the GA and GB were good, multiplicity granulation tissues were found in the GC.ConclusionAllantoin and chitosan can effectively prevented tendon adhesion; Allantoin can reduced the local inflammatory response and promoted tendon healing to prevention of tendon adhesion; Allantoin and chitosan had no significant difference in adhesion prevention, but the operation method of allantoin was more simple. Allantoin is an ideal low-price drug to prevent tendon adhesion.
