Ai Ling Particles Clinical Studies, The Synergistic Effect Of Haart

From 1987 professors of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences commenced to research in treating AIDS with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Tanzania. Doctors treated nearly ten thousands of HIV/AIDS patients with TCM and observed the efficacy of various treating methods such as clearing Heat and removeing Toxin, activating Blood and circulation Stasis, tonifying Qi and Blood. By used tens of TCM formula, the five year fatality rate of AIDS has decreased from 50% to 30%. Ailing Granule that was proved availability by using in Tanzania and China has been popularized for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. AZT+3TC+NVP was the first scheme of HAART which recommended by national Guidance of Diagnosis and Treatment of AIDS. We did pilot study of Ailing Granule' enhancing effect action to HAART through this research.1 ObjectiveThrough the treatment of medicine combined with TCM, it was evaluated impersonally that the augment action of Ailing Granule to HAART and effect of postponing AIDS incidence, and science evidence would offered for AIDS treatment with TCM.2 MethodWith randomized placebo control study design, 60 diagnosed patients were randomized into two groups which were treatment group of (AZT+3TC+NVP) and Ailing Granule, control group of (AZT+3TC+NVP ) and placebo. By testing all the patients'immune function, viral load and symptoms at baseline, third month, sixth month, ninth month and dendritic cells, safty testing at baseline, ninth month, it was evaluated impersonally that the validity of Ailing Granule and curative effect of medicine combined with TCM.3 ResultsAfter nine monthes treatment, it showed that there were significant differences between two groups in CD4 counts (P=0．037) , the function of PDC , symptoms counts and three aspects counts: cough, fatigue and naupathia. The CD4 counts, CD4~+CD45RA, Karnovsky Score and avoirdupois had notable difference of treatment group after nine months treatment, but there had no difference between two groups. The ratio of CD4/CD8 of treatment group had increased. The viral load of treatment group had dropped, but there had no difference between two groups.4 ConclusionAiling Granule has the effect of improving symptoms and immune function, tranquilization of viral load for the AIDS patients who had used with HAART. The compliance of patients was preferably. It had't happened drug resistance and the descending of HAART efficacity that Ailing Granule treated with HAART. The AIDS treatment of medicine combined with TCM is national predominance and we should take more research for the behalf of AIDS patients.Accessory: The clinical research of Ailing Granule treated HIV patients of Qi deficiency and Blood stagnation.Objective: To explore the therapeutic effect of Ailing Granule treated HIV patients of Qi deficiency and Blood stagnation. Method: With self control study design, 30 diagnosed HIV patients under treatment of Ailing Granule were examined every four month, total 12 month and tested immune function, viral load, cytokine, symptoms and safty testing. It was evaluated impersonally that the validity of Ailing Granule. Results: After one year treatment, it showed that the immune function and viral load were steadily and IL-2 had increased. Conclusion: Ailing Granule has the effect of improving symptoms, tranquilization immune function and viral load for the HIV patients, so as to prolong the process of HIV infection.
