Acupuncture Efficacy Of The Treatment Of Coronary Artery Disease In Patients With Anxiety And Depression Observed

【Research Significance】Because of many factors,the patients who have Coronary Heart Disease can easily have the mood of depression and anxiety.These bad mood may severely influence the treatment and recovery,and accordingly,influence the quality of life.At present,we have two methods to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and Anxiety-depression state:one is Western medicine,and the other is Psychological treatment.Among these methods,Western medicine is chief method,Psychological is minor method.But Western medicine have many side effects,especially to the heart,and Western medicine have severe interaction.Besides,using many kinds of Western midicine may aggravate the Anxiety-depression state and decrease the compliance.Because of the reasons above,doctors can not use Western midicine to treat the patients well,and many patients can not be treated in time.These results influence the improvement of the Anxiety-depression state and Coronary Heart Disease.Accordingly,the time of treatment will be extended,the suffering will be increased.Therefore,doctors are looking for a safe and convenient method to treat the patients.Acupuncture-therapy has many good qualities,as having less side effect,working fast,having significant curative effect,convenient to use,cheaper,safe,having good compliance.We have used acupuncture-therapy to treat the patients who have depression or anxiety for about 7 years.We have got good curative effect and we have accumulate many valuable clinical experience.But,we have not seen any report about using acupuncture-therapy to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.Because of these,we want to do a clinical randomized controlled trial about using cupuncture-therapy to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.【Research objective】This research has object of patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state,and the patients must consistent with the standard of bring into this research.We use acupuncture-therapy to treat the patients,and we observe the curative effect.We provid scientific clinical evaluation of curative effect for using acupuncture-therapy to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.We regulate the serviceable range and operating manual of using acupuncture-therapy to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.We do safety evaluation for acupuncture-therapy.We provid more good methods to treat the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.【Research project】Object:All patients come from Department of acupuncture and moxibustion and Medical Department of Beijing TCM hospital.All patients must be final diagnosised as Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.The time of collecting cases will start at July 2006 and end at March 2007.All patients must consistent with the diagnostic code of both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.Method:This research will bring into the patients strictly and use random digits table to let the patients into two groups.Group 1 use acupuncture-therapy to treat the anxiety-depression state and group 2 use drug to treat the anxiety-depression state,two groups both use conventional drugs to treat Coronary Heart Disease.The course of treatment is 8 weeks.Criterion:Let the patients do HAMD,SAS,SDS,TESS every two weeks.We analyze the curative effect according to the decreasing rate of HAMD,and we do factor analysis.【Result】Evaluation of Curative Effect:The total effective rate of group 1 is 73.3%,this of group 2 is 80.0%.The obvious effective rate of group 1 is 23.3%,this of group 2 is 26.7%.Performance comparison of Chi-square Test of two groups shows that the total effective rate has no statistical difference.Factor Analysis Results:Comparison between Groups:After 2 weeks of therapy,the sleeping disturbances factor of two groups has very significant deviation.This result direct that acupuncture-therapy can improve sleeping disturbance better than drug.Comparison inside Group:After 2 week of therapy,the group of acupuncture-therapy has obvious improvement at the factors of anxiety/constitutional symptom,body weight,hysteresis and sleep disturbance,and cognitive handicap after 4 weeks.After 2 weeks of therapy,the group of drug has obvious improvement at the factors of anxiety/constitutional symptom,hysteresis and sleep disturbance,has improvement at the factor of body weight.After 4 weeks of therapy,the group of drug has obvious improvement at the factor of cognitive handicap.After 6 weeks of therapy,the group of drug has obvious improvement at the factor of body weight.Side effect:During the process of research,18 patients have side effect in the group of drug,and 3 in the group of acupuncture-therapy.【Conclusion】1.Acupuncture-therapy can certainly improve the effect of the patients who have both Coronary Heart Disease and anxiety-depression state.After 8 weeks,the total effective rate is 80.0%,the obvious effective rate is 26.7%.2.There are no statistical significance between two groups,but clinical effective rates are different.It explains that different treatment have different effect.So,we should do research about the action of acupuncture-therapy.3.Acupuncture-therapy can obviously improve the factors of anxiety/constitutional symptom,hysteresis,sleep disturbance,cognitive handicap and body weight.4.Acupuncture-therapy has a long histroy,it is easy to be operated,it has less side effect,and it is easily to be accepted by the patients.We can do more research about it.
