Maxing Cough Mixture Treatment Of Children With Pneumonia (phlegm-heat Close To The Lung) Experimental And Clinical Studies

Object:To investigate the curative effect on Maxing Cough Relief Mixture (MCRM)treating pneumonia and its mechanism by doing some experimental and clinical researches.Method:Experimental Research : There are two experiments on white mice. One is toconfirm whether MCRM can relieve cough by using NH3 incenting cough method, the otheris to confirm whether MCRM can alleviate spit by using phenolphthalein discharged method.Sixty mice were divided into six groups randomly. And each group were given different drugswhich were MCRM (much dose), MCRM (middle dose), MCRM (little dose), Ertong QifeiKoufuye(EQK), 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection(SCI),Robitussin Cold & Cough ReliefSolution(RCCRS) or Ambroxol Hydrochloride Injection(AHI). Test the cough relief utility ofthese drugs by investigating how long the mice begin to cough and how many times theycough in two minutes. And test their spit relief utility by investigating how muchphenolphthalein are discharged from windpipes of mice. Clinical Research : 90 children whosuffered from pneumonia were divided into two groups randomly. As one group 60 childrenwere given MCRM for two weeks, the other 30 children were given EQK for two weeks. Atthe same time two groups children were all given antibiotic. Several symptoms and sign hadbeen followed up during the period.Conclusion:The results of experimental research showed that three doses of MCRM allcould prolong the cough beginning of mice and alleviate the cough times of mice. Thatconfirmed MCRM having good utility to relieve cough. On the other hand, the results showedthat much and middle doses of MCRM could increase evidently the phenolphthaleindischarged from windpipes of mice. That confirmed MCRM having good utility to alleviatespit. Meanwhile, the results of clinical research showed that the total effective rate of MCRMgroup had significant difference with that of EQK group. And in improving some symptomsand sign MCRM group was better than EQK group. The two drugs had no bad effect.
