Chpter 1 Determination of level of leucotrienes in patients with hepatitis BObjective To investigate the relationship between type I hypersensitivity and pathogenesis of hepatitis B by observation of serum level of leucotrienes (LTs) and liver damage in patients with hepatitis B.Methods The serum level of LTs was determined with sandwich ELISA, and the serum levels of ALT and AST were measured using omni automatic biochemistry analyzer in 42 cases of patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B and 35 control subjects. Results The level of serum LTs in 42 patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B was higher than that in control subjects. In chronic groups, the level of serum LTs in serious chronic hepatitis B was highest, then the mild group , the light group. Furthermore, the correlation between the level of LTs and the level of ALT and AST was also observed. Conclusion The serum level of LTs reflects the liver damage in the patients with acute and chronic hepatitis B, indicating that LTs may play some role in the pathogenesis of hepatitis B.Chpter 2 Study of leucotrienes on liver damage in miceObjective To investigate the relationship between type I hypersensitivity and pathogenesis of hepatitis B by observing the action of leucotrienes (LTs) on liver...
