Objective: The object of this study was to assess the clinicaleffectiveness and part therapeutic mechanism and the effect of airway resistance of pulmonary function of xuan-mai check cough instant granule in treating laryngeal cough of the type of yin -deficiency and wind-dryness syndrome Methods: To select fifty patients from the combination of 《ThePrinciple in Clinic Study of TCP》 in 1993 and 《Diagnostics of TCM》 Fifty patients with laryngeal Cough of yin-deficiency and wind-dryness entered the study and were randomized to treatment and control group , 30 case in treament group and the other 20 case in control group The treatment group was given xuan-mai check cough instant granule, being thawed in hot water and eating 200ml twice every day The control group was given Ji Zhi Syrup, eating 10ml three times every day The treatment duration was at least one week The clinical symptoms and airway resistance of pulmonary function were determined at the beginning and the end of the trail respectively We observed the changes of clinical symptoms, airway resistance, the adverse effects were illustrated in words Results: The results showed that xuan-mai check cough instantgranule was proved to be efficacious in improving clinical symptom and airway resistance of pulmonary function All case hadn, t any inpositive affection The clinical controlland remarkably effective rate in treatment group is 56. 6%, higher than that in control group (P<0. 01 ) Furthermore, the effective rate in treatment group is also higher than control group (P<0. 05) Pulmonary airway resistance such as Zrs...
