Object: To study the efficacy and safety of comprehensive five-way-combo non-drug TCM treatment versus western medicine through random contra-positive trial in treating cervical spondylopathy of the nerve root type, and to provide objective evidence for choosing complex treatment schemes to prevent and cure cervical spondylopathy of the nerve root type.Methods: 131 patients were randomly separated into therapy group of 62 people and comparison group of 69 people, with each group classified as in intermediate and late stage of the disease. Therapy group was treated with the combination of electric acupuncture, massage, traction, TDP and guidance while the comparison group was treated with traction, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, TDP and sport comprehensive treatment. Evaluations were taken for both groups with MPQ and symptom-function score before the trail, as well as after the completion of 15 treatment sessions to study the curative effect.Result: It has shown great improvement in both groups after the treatment with alleviated symptoms and physical signs.
