Objective To discuss the therapy effects of traction therapy in cervical spondylopathy, and analyse the related factors of traction therapy, It may provide some referential materials for clinic in order to take the best advantages of traction therapy. Methods The 168 patients who accorded with stated criteria were randomly assigned into two groups: the special angle traction group and the fixed angle traction group. All the two groups were applied with the sustained traction in sitting. According to the patient's condition and the imaging characteristics, the special angle traction group (n=84) was administered with traction of flexion or stretch at special angle, the cervical spondylopathy of the vertebral artery type at upright position. The fixed angle traction group (n=84) was administered with traction of flexion at 20°. The two groups were applied the same principle of selecting the weight and time of traction. Clinical effect was observed after 3 therapeutic processes and difference was compared in painness, curvature of cervical spondylopathy, range of flexion-extension (RFE) between two groups, and analyse the related factors of traction therapy. Results Before treatment the observed no statistically significant differences (P>0.05),while all patients showed significant differences with statistical significance after treatment (P<0.05). Compared with the mean difference of all the parameters before and after treatment of patients, the difference was significant (P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that: the influence in RFE of sex was no significant influence in significance (P>0.05); The influence in range of flexion-extension of age, the disease course, the cervical degeneration was significant (the former two P<0.05, the latter P<0.01), negative correlation showed that the older the age was, the longer the course was, the more severe cervical degeneration was, the worse the effect of traction was. The therapy effects of the special angle traction was better than the fixed angle traction (P<0.01). The weight of traction at a certain scope and the change scope of RFE presentted positive correlation (P<0.05).Conclusion Traction therapy is one of effective ways to reduce patients' painness of Cervical Spondylosis, to ameliorate curvature of cervical spondylopathy, to improve RFE. Among the the related factors of traction therapy, the angle, weihgt and time is the accredited three elements. It is the crucial factor for increasing therapeutic effectiveness to choose the appropriate angle and weihgt according to the patients' condition and the imaging characteristics.
