Objective: The AFP (Acute Flaccid Paralysis) case inspection system, set up in 1991 throughout the country, is in charge of the AFP case inspection. To consolidate the success in poliomyelitis annihilation and ensure the high efficiency of the system, it is of great necessity to evaluate its working quality. However, no feasible method has been found so far to do the job. Thus, in the thesis, it is suggested that AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) should be put to use to offer a comprehensive, all-round and scientific evaluation about the working quality of AFP case inspection system so that some information can be acquired about the actual working conditions and its real working quality for the sake of providing scientific basis for its further improvement. Methods: The AHP is adopted in the thesis. Firstly, on the basis of the main contents of the system, the evaluation index system and aim tree will be set up, including 12 evaluation indexes. Then the weight coefficient of each index will be worked out. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation will be carried out and different grades will be obtained on the basis of the comprehensive grade index. Results: 1. Four findings are obtained by means of the evaluation of each index in epidemiology 1) When it comes to the sensitivity of the AFP system from 1997 to 2004, it was best in 2002 and 2001 in its report quality of a disease incidence, better in 2004, 2000, 2003 and 1999, worst in 1998 and 1997. The qualified report rate reached the highest in 2000 and 1999, followed in order by 2001, 2002, 2004, 1998, 2003 and 1997. 2) As for the efficiency of the system, 2004 and 2003 went the highest before 2002, 2001, 2000 and 1999, of which was the same in 2000 and 2001, but in 1998 and 1997 it was most inefficient. 3) Considering the integrity of the system , it did the best in 2000 and 2001, followed by 2002, 1999, 2004, 1998, 2003 and 1997 of which the last two years were the worst. 4) Given poliomyelitis bacterin vaccination, the job was completed the best in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and then in 2004, 2003, 1999, 1998 and 1997, of which the order of 2001 and 2002 was the same.2. As far as the evaluation of single index of pathogeny is concerned, poliomyelitis diagnosis rate went first from 1997 to 1998 and from 2000 to 2004 while it was second in 1999. According to clinical practice and the elimination rate of poliomyelitis, it was the best in 2000, 2001and next in 2004, 2002, 2003, 1999, 1998 and 1997.3. Multiple index evaluation is conducted: the inspection quality in epidemiology was the best in 2000 and 1999, followed by 2001, 2002, 2004, 2003, 1998 and 1997 while the inspection quality in pathogeny was the...
