Objective: Observing therapeutical effect of yuan and luo points needling improving eye's functionby promoting meridians to the asthenopia syndrome, based on taichong and guangming points. Method: Patients treated in Dongfang hospital are the objects of observation. The cases weredivided into two groups, which were acupuncturing observation group and the control group.Mainly points of observation group are Taichong, Guangming, Taiyang, Jingming, Taixi, andHegu, once a day, 10 times as a period of treatment. New Rohto eyedrops is used in controlgroup, four times a day, and 10 days as a period of treatment. After a period of treatment, according to the patients' ocular symptoms quantification score, tears film break time and thechanging of near point of accommodation, the clinical curative effect of needling and eyedroptherapy asthenopia syndrome is evaluated. Result and conclusion: 1.In 30 patients treated of acupuncturing observation group, after a period of treatment, 7cases were healed, achieving 23.3%; 16 cases were marking effective, accounting for 56.7%; 5cases were effective, accounting for 13.3% and 2 cases were ineffect, accouning for 6.7%. Thetotal effective rate was 93.3%. In 30 control group patients, 3 cases were healed, reaching 10%;13 cases were marking effective, arriving at 43.3%; 9 cases were effective; accounting for30% and 5 cases were ineffect, accounting for 16.7%. The total effective rate was 83.3%.Through statistics analyse, the curative effect to acupuncturing observation group is excelledto control group. 2. Cornea fluorescence dye degree and bulbar conjunctiva bloodshot status of patients areall alleviated after treated in both two groups. Through RIDIT analyse, therapeutical effectsare all distinct in both two groups. Compare needling group with eyedrop group, the curativeeffect in former is better than in the latter. 3. Through T test (P<0.01), the tear break-up time (BUT) after acupuncture has markeddifference by contrast with before, So acupuncture can effectively prolong the tear break-uptime. In the same way, eyedrop curing can effectively prolong the tears film break time too.Compare the curative effect of two groups, we can find acupuncture is better than eyedrop. 4. Through RIDIT analyse, the changing of near point of accommodation is distinct aftertreated in acupuncturing observation group. So we can conclude acupuncture can shorten thedistance of near point of accommodation, whereas the eyedrop has not the effect like that. In conclusion, the methodology of yuan and luo points needling improving eye's functionby promoting meridians has active effect to asthenopia syndrome. It can decrease the numberof cornea fluorescence dye, alleviate bulbar conjunctiva bloodshot degree, prolong the tearsfilm break time, improve the status of cornea and bulbar conjunctiva, and it's effect is betterthan New Rohto eyedrops, although the latter is effective too. Acupuncture can distinctlyshorten the distance of near point of accommodation, whereas the eyedrop has not the effectlike that. So we can conclude, yuan and luo points needling improving eye's function bypromoting meridians is an effective, safety and convenient methodology.
