Discussion Of Psychological Intervention For Patients With Bronchial Asthma

Objective: To analysis the factor of psychology and society that affect bronchial asthma patients. To explore the methods and curative effect of mental intervene in bronchial asthma patients. Methods: To divide the 60 patients of bronchial asthma into two groups, 30 patients/group. At the same time of treatment, we intervene in the study group with mental step. The intervening steps are mental leading, education of asthma information, relax technic, breath technic and individual mental treatment. Before the intervening, we investigate the patient's general situation and knowledge about asthma with questionnaire. And measure the Self—Rating Anxiety Scale, SAS, Self—Rating Depression Scale, SDS, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, EPQ, Expiratory peak flow meter, PEF,and arterial oxygen saturation,SaO2. After intervening, we measure the same indexes above. Observing the curative effect of the two groups, and analysis the influence factors. Results:A There are no significant difference between two group in general situation and knowledge about asthma,EPQ (E,N,P,L),SAS,SDS,PEF,SaO2 when they are hospitalized (p>0.05). B The result of 60 patients who were measured by EPQ show: Compare with normal people, patients with asthma were of character of introversive leaning (p<0.005)and unstable mood(p<0.005). C The average score of SAS and SDS in 60 patients were higher than normal people in China. D There are significant difference between the two groups in psychological measurement, and physical measurement. The knowledge of asthma and the length of hospitalization after they were treated (p<0.05). E The factors that affect lung function and SaO2 are the mood of depression and anxiety, mental intervene,personal character,knowledge about asthma, and the severe of the illness. Conclusion: The factors of psychology and society have great effect on patients of bronchial asthma, such as personality and mood, affect the cause and result of asthma. At the same time of treatment, mental intervening can relieve the symptom of depressions, anxiety and pressure of psychology. The symptoms of asthma can be improved rapidly in this way.
