| Chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) has been a group of severe diseases that badly affect people's living conditions in present days. In theory of Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM), it belongs to the category of "edema", "asthenia", "lumbago" , or "hematuria". In treatment, physicians have distinguished the distinction, established the treatment principle in the guidance of TCM theory and obtained satisfying effects. The term chronic glomerulonephritis is a modern appellation, while the syndrome differentiation is inconsistent and various. So the standardization of syndrome is necessary. We studied 200 in- patients of Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM within the time span ranging from Jan. , 2000 to Apr. , 2002, and then analyzed the feature of symptom distributing with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) and primarily discussed the relativity between modern ' examination information and symptom types. Finally we found out the inefficiency aspects of retrospective research and corrected the possible inaccuracy in on-the-spot research projects. We found that CGN can be devided into asthenia and sthenia types. Asthenia types including Qi-deficiency of the lung-kidney, Yin-deficiency of the liver- kieney, Qi-deficiency of the spleen-kidney, Yang-deficiency of the spleen-kidney, Qi and Yin deficiency syndromes. Sthenia types including Invasion by wind and heat-pathogen, Retention of water and damp- pathogen, Damp and turbid-pathogen accumulated in the body , Damp and heat- pathogen accumulated in the body, Hyperactive liver-Yang syndromes. Qi-deficiency of the spleen-kidney and Retention of water and damp- pathogen are the most two familiar syndromes. We chose 20 symptoms and some assay informations for correlation-analysis and established a simple syndrome-differentiation model. |
