Object: According to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Modern Medicine, set up the bronchial asthma models and observed the general clinical symptoms and the plasma content of ET, TXB2 and 6-keto-PGF1α in experimental guinea pigs, then, the changes of those can illuminate the mechanism of shegan mahuang syrup. Method: 300-400g male guinea pigs were chosen. The lab animals were divided into four groups randomly: the normal group, the control group, the Chinese medicine group, the west medicine group. The asthmatic models were set up by the method of inbreathing atomized albumen.Result: Compared with the normal group, in the control group, the content of ET, TXB2 increased and the content of 6-keto-PGF1α reduced. In the Chinese medicine group and the west medicine group the content of ET, TXB2 reduced and the content of 6-keto-PGF1α increased. So, it showed that shegan mahuang syrup can treat asthma. Consulsion: Shegan mahuang syrup can reduce the content of ET, TXB2 and increase the content of 6-keto-PGFia . Maybe that is its mechanism of treating asthma.
