Metastasis is one of the features of cancer. It is an important stage of tumor progression. Metastasis does not happen at random. The tumor cell has the ability to choose some special organs to stay and grow in. It is related about the micro--environment. This thesis is based on the knowledge of metastasis of tumor in previous and present documents. We choose lung cancer which is the most common to be inclined to metastasize. In this study, the relationship between the organs which are metastasized from lung cancer and the Viscera-stale theory is analyzed. This thesis consists of both the part of introduction of concerned reviews and the part of clinical research. There are three concerned reviews introduced in the former part. The basic theory, the progress and the train thought of TCM on the study of cancer metastasis are discussed in the first review. The second one details the TCM achievements in the research of anti-metastasis of cancer. The third review deals with the development on the study of cancer metastasis in an eye of modern medicine. In the part of clinical research, we put our emphasis on the study of the relations--hip between the metastasis of the lung cancer and the Viscera-stale theory. We collect 103 patients who were diagnosed of primary lung cancer for a retrospective study. They were divided into four groups of the Syndrome of water and phlegm retention due to spleen deficiency, Yin deficiency with noxious heat, Qi and Yin deficiency, blood stasis and Qi stagnancy. And then they were analyzed with the statistical data of metastases in different organs. The result shows:(1)Qi and Yin deficiency is the most common syndrome, which takes up for 40.34% in metastases of single organ; the second is Yin deficiency with noxious heat, which takes up for 26.05%; the third is water and phlegm retention due to spleen deficiency, 20.17%; the least is blood stasis and Qi stagnancy, 13. 45%. (2)In every syndrome, the metastasis distribution of each organ has statistic significance (P<0.01).(3)In all the metastasis organs, liver shows statistic significance in syndromes distribution(P0.01). None of the other does.According to the result of the research, we conclude that Qi and Yin deficiency acts as a guiding role in all the metastasis organs and syndromes of lung cancer, which means vital-qi is consumed in the final period of cancer patients. Except it, brain metastasis and the syndrome of water and phlegm retention due to spleen deficiency; liver metastasis and the syndrome of Yin deficiency with noxious heat; skeleton metastasis and blood stasis and Qi stagnancy has the closest relationship^ related closely). We analyze it by the Viscera-stale theory of TCM, and point out we can replenish qi of lung and strengthen yin of kidney in order to get mutual generation of mental and water and to prevent the metastasis of lung cancer. Besides, strengthen metal by way of reinforcing earth to prevent brain metastasis when the syndrome of water and phlegm retention due to spleen deficiency appears. And the treatment methods of replenishing yin of liver and expelling heat of heart should be done to prevent liver metastasis when the syndrome of Yin deficiency with noxious heat emerges.
