The first, the principle of treatment of the disorders of the muscle regions is finding the part with pain or the tender-point (y'tongweishu). Additionally, it needs close attention when combining channels and acupoints. As for the acupuncture techniques, warming the needle and sudden insertion is the standard of treatment of the disorders in nuscle regions. Others, "heguci" needling method or "fenci" needling method may be used . The second , the traditional Chinese medical decuments refer to physiology, pathology, and treament of the twelve muscle regions. As for the circulation range, twelve muscle regions have rules of order,but it does not enter the zangfu organs and proceeds tward the heart and shows features of combing, concentrating, exchanging, and harmonizing. The physiological function of the twelve muscle regions are linking, binding, and protecting. The pathological symptoms of the twelve regions are abruptness of the muscle regions, loosening of the muscle regions, and atrophy of the muscle regions, the symptoms of the disordor and the symptoms of the channels where muscle regions circulate may show similarities and differences alsoshowing malfunction and pain in joints.
