It is reported form clinical observation that Bleeding has a remarkable effect to reduce heat. To explore the peripheral mechanism of reducing heat by bleeding, we did the experiment through pyrexia model with inflammation through acute adjuvant arthritic (AA) rats. Kunlun (UB60)was selected, and the marks, which were IL-1, HSPsTO, PGEa, temperature, pain threshold, were measured by radioummunoassay etc. The results showed that bleeding has the following functions:1. reduce temperature and is better than therapy of electro-accupuncture.2. heighten pain threshold and decrease swelling level, and there is no sufficient difference between bleeding and electro-acupuncture.3. increased the contents of HSPs70 in peripheral tissue and there is no sufficient difference between two methods.4. decreased the content of IL-1 in peripheral tissue and there is no sufficient difference between two methods. It suggests that there is an objective peripheral mechanism of which our experiment is related to. And it suggests that it can protect the cell by bleeding method. This study provides theoretical basis for rheumatoid arthritis by bleeding in a certain extant and establishes a foundation for further exploration.
