| Traditional Chinese Medicine has its own way in treating superficial mycoses. This project was selected to study the antifungal effect and acting mechanism of Xiao Fan (XF)Lotion. In clinical study, 98 cases of dermatomycosis were treated with 3% XF Lotion, the clinical cure rate is 76.53%, the effective rate is 92.86%; and the mycological cure rate is 88%, which are equal to those of the control group. But as to the cases with obvious inflammation, there were statistically significant difference between the two group. 48 cases of other superficial myeoses were treated with XF Lotion also, the effective rate is 70.83%. Experimental result showed that the average MIC for common dermatophyte is 0.25-7.5mg/mi, MIC for candida albicans is 7.5-15mg/mi. This study indicates XF Lotion is a convenient economical Chinese traditional medicine compound with wide and definite antifungal anti-inflammatory effect. |
