The Detection of Helicobacter Pylon in the Mouths of the Patients with Oral Licheii Planus Postgraduate Deng Jing Instructor Li Ning Yi Professor [ABSTRACT] Objective: In order to discuss the relationship between oral lichen planus (OLP)and helicobacter pylori(HP). Methods: 1. Polyrnerase chain reaction(PCR) was applied to detect HP in the oral rnucosal epithelial cells and dental plaques of 30 OLP cases and 19 biopsy samples. 2.19 biopsy samples of OLP were examined by light microscope with haematoxylin and eosin (HE) and Warthin Starry silver (W ?S)stains. Selected examples were reprocessed transmission election microscope. Results : 1. 20/150 specimens were positive for HP-DNA by PCR in mucosal epithelial cells, which differences were significant compared with the control group (P<0.05) . 2. Positive rate was highest in buccal mucosa .3. There were no significant differences for HP-DNA positive rate between erosive OLP and non-erosive OLP (P>0.05) 4. 12 of 19 biopsy specimens were positive for HP by PCR. That had significant differences compared with the control group (P=0.0002). 5. HP were readily visible in sections with W-S stain. Conclusion: HIP were proved to exist in oral epithelial cells of OLP 3 patients and could invade into lesional site of OLP. HP had relationship with some OLP.
