Taurine Inhibits Experimental Study Of Sugar Cataract Formation

[Abstract] Objective To evaluate the protective effect of taurine on diabetic cataract. Method Ninety Wistar rats were divided into six groups: contral group,galactose group, ga~lactose with 0. 5%, 2% And4% taurine eye drops (TED) group, galactose with4% taurine celiac injection group. The transparency of all lens were examined under microscope and phato?graphied. The histological changes were examined under light microscope. The levels of SOD and MDA were determined. Results After22days, all lenses in control group remained transparency, all lenses in galactose group and with 0. 5% TED group developed cataract.
