in this experiment, the diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN) .odel is duplicated by Alloxan in rats. In this paper ,the anaigetic effect oN DPN in rats whose bilateral tZusanlf and tsanyinjiao"acupolnts received electroacupuncture (BA.) were studied. With the targets of general symptoms, pain threshold, plasma glucose level, blood velocity in extremltis, the experiment is aimed to probe the analgetic effect of BA on DPN and the mechanism of improvement in microcirculatory disturbance. The results show that, as compared with untreated DPN group , the symptoms of polyphagia, polydipia, polyuria and weight lost were attenuated in BA groups;the increased plasm glucose level was lowered by the and of the fourth week;the docreased pain threshold and the blood velocity in extremitis slowing were significantly elevated ;the difference is significant(p<0. 05) BA in both "Zusanli" and "Sanyinjiao"is better than in "Sanyinjiao"only. These findings indicate that BA has a favorable analgotic effect on DPN by needling "Sanyinjiaot"and "Zusanli"acupoints. The mechanism might be that BA could regulate the metabolic disorder of glucose and improve the micrucirculatory dlsturbance.Applying reasonable acupoints, the effect could be increased.
