As a brief introduction of the ShiLiaoZuanYao, this part is also telling you about its author, versions, and primary contents based on historical research.Chapter 2. Document Study and its Findings. Discussion of the Statistic Outcome. The last chapter of the paper is discussing the findings and results drawn from the chapter 2. Fact 1:The Kinds of Items and Their Percentage. When examining the 131 items of plants and drugs, there are 92 kinds of plants and 39 sorts of drugs, taking 70.23% and 29.77% respectively. Among the 39 medication,18 drugs can be used as both medicine and food (multi-functioning drug) and 10 drugs can be used as health boosting supplements. Each takes 46.15% and 25.64% respectively and it's 71.79% of the medication. The disposition and efficacy of these plants and drugs are described in this part with their prescriptive mixing technique and its characteristic application. Fact 2:The Kinds of Illnesses and Their Percentage. When examining overall dietetic mixing technique, there are 109 kinds of illnesses mentioned in the book.39 types of internal illnesses take the most of the symptoms, which is 35.8% of all.25 types (22.9%) are found in gynecology,22(20.2%) in surgery department,14(12.8%) in pediatrics, and 9(8.3%) in otolaryngology. Fact 3:The 7 Primary Ailments. Among other symptoms of illnesses from the book, there are 7 frequently addressed ailments chosen from the aspect of food therapy-a stroke, a disease diagnosed by thirst, a serious cough, an ache resulting from numbness, a disease relating to stomach, blurry vision and weak hearing, and a drinking related disease. This part is to discuss these illnesses and how to cure them with food based on its characteristics and rules of application. Fact 4. One Treatment for Other Diseases. Among the items from the book, there are many items that can cure the main symptoms and others as well. This part is about those items and their quality. Also in the last chapter, you can find out more detailed information on food therapy that is depicted in the book. Here are some of them.First, most of plants and medication used in the book have sweet taste with placid temper and are affiliated with the spleen and gastric rim. Big part of the items that supplement emptiness is the kind of medication that supplements energy. Their application is in accord with symptoms of unenergetic spirit that are shown in the latter period of chronic diseases. Vegetables and fishery products are used in most of the cases. This explains that, when employing food as medicine for chronic diseases, it is crucial to have the six viscera to perform a harmonious function and make the stomach digest and absorb nutrition. Also, with the fact that the percentage of health boosting supplements and multi-functioning drugs is over 70% out of 131 kinds of items, it is clear that doctors at the time also differentiated medicine from food. Second, comparatively many of the dynamic dietary treatments apply to internal medicine and gynecology. Most of the treatments in internal medicine are used to heal diseases of the digestive system. This indicates that the then doctors were highly interested in internal medicine and gynecology and their treatments on those illnesses with food were effective. Most of the treatments in gynecology apply to cure symptoms after childbirth and then to cure symptoms during pregnancy, menstrual pains, leucorrhea, and other various diseases. This asserts that regulated food therapy played a pivotal role in treating diseases before and after childbirth. It was considered very important for women to have right food to recover health after childbirth. Third, side dishes are the most common form of dietary treatments and then there are rice porridge, juice, and beverage. This implies that doctors at the time considered daily eating habit and regulated food intakes important to recover health during dietary treatments. Also, by using simple and easy way of dietetic cure, it came in handy for average people to take care of their health in ordinary days. This way of food therapy provided the concept of food as medicine to modern society. Lastly, the dietary treatments for the 7 primary ailments perform the function of both prevention and cure. The peculiar "yi bing tong tiao"-one cure for other diseases-method puts weight on using fish and poultry among other meat and rice as a staple food and noodle as a substitute among other grain under regional condition for agriculture in Korea. All sorts of condiment are used widely and fermented food with bean is applied significantly. It is certain that the ShiLiaoZuanYao provides us with reliable data that dietetic mixing technique using plants and medication from the book can prevent and cure diseases. The book is a great reference to convince people that they should care what they eat in everyday life.
