Research On The Spread And Influence Of YixueRumen To Traditional Medicine In Japan,Korea And Vietnam

Yixue Rumen is an encyclopedia of traditional Chinese medicine of the Ming Dyn-asty.It was written by a famous doctor,Li Chan,and was first published in 1575.The book consists of seven volumes,and another origination volume added.It adopts the form of songs as main body,characters with easy reciting as well as understanding,and bases on Yunqi,Jingluo,Bencao,Zang-Fu organs,then discusses contents of clinical practices in internal medicine,surgery,gynecology,pediatrics and so on.Having a big impact on traditional medicine in Japan,Korea and Vietnam,while Yixue Rumen spre-aded rapidly to the neighboring countries of China.In the past,most of the studies are on the general historical discussions of the med-ical exchanges between China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam,or analysis of some specific problems,without any systematic exposition of the spread and influence of YixueRumen in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.Besides,there are some undiscovered points of the background of the author,Li Chan.In the course of my study,I found that Japan,Korea and Vietnam have many versions of Yixue Rumen,and there are many medical works in the three countries,which took a large number of references to Yixue Rumen.This phenomenon has aroused the author's attention,and leads me to explore that what a role Yixue Rumen had been played in the process of medical exchanges between China and neighboring countries.Some important representative medical books from Japan,Korea and Vietnam ar-ound Yixue Rumen by Li Chan.I collect the historical data and relevant medical literatures of China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam,use typology,history,and literature research methods to analyse the use-ful information,hoping to perfect the background research of Li Chan and Yixue Rumen,and to carry out a systematic research of Yixue Rumen's spreading and practicing in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.I have carried out the following works in this research:Firstly,by collecting his-torical records of Yixue Rumen,I try to find out what is still doubtful and incomplete in the existing research.Secondly,through digging and analyzing the information of the versions of Yixue Rumen in China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam,comparing and summ-arizing the characteristics of the major versions,then combs the circulation of Yixue Rumen in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.The two aspects above are mainly reflected in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.Thirdly,through the analysis of many famous foundational works of traditional medicine of Japan,Korea and Vietnam,as well as some relevant medical distinctive books which have great influence,wide spreaded and high value,to expound the common features and their characteristics of the study,researches and applications of Yixue Rumen in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.These contents are mainly discussed in chapter 3,4 and 5.The conclusion of this paper is:Yixue Rumen has complete system,comprehensive content,lively form,so it is easy to learn and understand,as well as convenient,prac-tical and suitable for clinical use.The book itself has many advantages and distinctive features,which is the main reason of why it was widely accepted by doctors in China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam.Yixue Rumen was very popular in China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam.It was one of the important best-selling medical books at that time.It spreaded widely and had a great influence.Yixue Rumen was republiced many times.There were various versions of it in the Ming and Qing dynasty in China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam.In the peripheral three countries of China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam,all have their respective reissued versions.China,Japan and Korea have been preserving the edition they published and circulated.Japan,Korea and Vietnam are now collecting almost 40 versions of Yixue Rumen as far as I can tell.Business Exchanges,book exchanges,mas-ter researches,clinical practice,medical education and royal praise,effectively promot-ed Yixue Rumen in China's surrounding countries.Yixue Rumen is recommended by famous doctors in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.When compiling medical books,the doctors all used the essential contents of Yixue Rumen.With a large number of referen-ces and excerpts,the medical theory,diagnostic techniques and practical experience contained in Yixue Rumen had became a part of the traditional medicine of the three countries,and guide the medical research and medical practice of them.Yixue Rumen had exerted great influence on the medical education in Japan and Korea,as well as the development and the framework of traditional medicine in Japan,Korea and Vietnam.The study of Yixue Rumen in Japan,Korea and Vietnam had its own characteristics.Japan regarded it as a comprehensive medical encyclopedia Li Dynasty of Korea app-oint it as an authoritative textbook.Li Dynasty and Vietnam attached great importance to the part of the medical practice.On the basis of learning and studying the book,the doctors of the three countries embodied the characteristics of making Yixue Rumen indigenized.The acceptance of Yixue Rumen by Japan,Korea and Vietnam also had some commonalities,which were mainly reflected in selectivity and flexibility;doctors in the three countries had perfected it from different sides around their own needs;peo-ple who participated in learning,researching,and practicing Yixue Rumen were no lack of confucianists.They organically combined medicine and Confucianism and carried out fruitful practice.Yixue Rumen is one of an important link in the development of tra-ditional medicine for China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam.It is also a historical witness and a successful model of the medical and cultural exchanges between China,Japan,Korea and Vietnam.In a word,I hope to show the value of the Ming Dynasty medical work Yixue Rumen in the aspects of medical literature,edition circulation,medical education,popularization and dissemination of traditional Chinese medicine,etc.,in order to provide a certain historical mirror for contemporary Chinese medicine and cultural exchanges.
