Objective:To observe and compare brain functional magnetic resonance imagings (fMRI) of static status,electro-acupuncturing aucpoint in Du meridian[Dazhui (GV 14),Zhiyang(GV9),Mingmen(GV4),Changqiang (GV 1)] and retaining needle and explore the corresponding relationship between DU meridian(governor vessel) and fMRI of activated cerebral function zone,in order to support the evidences to treat mental and emotional sickness.Method:fMRI scan the subjects which is according with inclusion criteria on static status,electro-acupuncturing aucpoint and retaining needle using the regional homogeneity (ReHo) as the measure target. Process the image and statistical analysis by SPM5 and REST software.Obtain ReHo images and corresponding Talairach anatomical coordinate.Result:1.ReHo of electro-acupuncturing group increased more obviously in bilateral frontal lobe gyri rectus. gyrus frontalis inferior, bilateral cingulate gyrus, limbic lobe, left caudate nucleus and right gyrus hippocampi than static status group. (P<0.001)2.ReHo of retending needle group increased more obviously in bilateral frontal mid-sub gyrus, limbic lobe, right claustrum and lenticular nucleus than stastic status group. (P<0.001)3.There is not obvious different area on ReHo between the electro-acupuncturing group and retending needle group.Conclusion:1.The ReHo of electro-acupuncturing group and retending needle group increased more obviously than static status group. It shows that electro-acupuncturing and retending needle in aucpoint of Du meridian can change local parts of central nervous system correspondingly.2.There is not obvious change of local parts of central nervous system on electro-acupuncturing and retending needle status.
