ObjectiveSchizophrenia is regarded as a disorder of brain dysfunction, but the disorder specific pathological mechanism is still not clear. In recent years, the study of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), which has a lot of research using the method of functional connectivity analysis showed that schizophrenia is a disorder of brain dysfunction. However, functional connectivity analysis mthod can only reflect the synchronization between different brain areas over along distance, cant reflect the characteristics of spontaneous activity in the local brain regions. There are also some clinical studies show that 60%-80% of the patients with may recover from psychotic symptoms after taking antipsychotics.Regional homogeneity (ReHo) analysis is a method of using calculating coefficient of KCC (Kendall’s coefficient concordance) to measure the similarity of a given voxel to thoes of its nearest neighbors in a voxel-wise way. In this study,we enrolled 17 antipsychotics treated patients of schizophrenia with first episode (remission group) and 17 gender, age, education matched first episodicschizophrenia(acute group) to explore the ReHo in first episodicschizophrenia by using functional magnetic resonance image(fMRI) technology. Methods:Enrolled 17 antipsychotics treated patients of schizophrenia with first episode (remission group) and 17 sex, age, education matched first episodeicschizophrenia(acute group) and examined by fMRI scans. ReHo of the resting-state brain activity was compared between groups.Result:1. Compared with acute group, significanty higher brain ReHo distribution in the left inferior frontal gyrus, right inferior frontal gyrus, right superior temporal gyrus, right lingual gyrus/fusiform gyrus, left postcentral gyrus, and right postcentral gyrus((P<0.05).2. Compared with acute group, significanty decreased brain ReHo distribution in the left cerebellum (P<0.05).Conclusion:1. Compared to acute group, there are significantly differencet in rest fMRI in remission group, remission group showed significantly abnormal ReHo distribution in the tempotal lobe, frontal lobe, occipital lobe, parietal obe and cerebellum.2. Compared to acute group, there are significantly difference in rest fMRI in remission group, the changes of brain function alteration may be associated with antipsychotic drugs treatment.3. The changes of brain function alteration may reflect the biological phenotype changes in schizophrenia.
