Machines management is a very critical work for the manufacturing company (especially for the capital densified companies), which is called the'Vital Management'for a modern company; therein, the spare parts management, operation management & tool maintenance are the three pillars in equipment management.In semiconductor (Integrated circuits) industry, the manufacturing technology is very complicated, and the equipments are high tech, high precise & high accurate; meanwhile, many catergories, much expensive; for each of a tool, there are plenty of spare parts, unless establishing a robust spare parts management system, the manufacturing efficiency would be seriously impacted.This dissertation starts from the significance of the equipments maintenance and its spare parts management in the semiconductor industry, and furthermore had a series of research worldwide on the methodologies on the spare parts management & categorization. By integrating the theory & practice, the research is covering the inventory optimization, spare parts quality control & supply chain management, moreover, it innovates the model for the spare parts management focusing on the 3 points; lastly creates the system as an example to demonstrate the 3 full loop systems.1) Quota optimization full loop: while analyzing the historical consumption quantity of spare parts, the system will allow the user to configure the quota limit, with which, it can optimize the inventory, as purchasing based on needs, and avoid being over store some rarely used spare parts or lacking of the common used spare parts.2) Spare parts quality control full loop system: when a part is damaged for new part extraction, the technician can give the judgement & evaluation in the system on whether this part has been fast worn out or poor quality issue, thus, in this way, the engineer can summarize the spare parts quality assessment, so as to feedback to the supplier for continuous quality control & improvement.3) Supply chain full loop system: respecting to the spare parts consumption, the inventory level decreases, when the inventory level triggers the minimum inventory limit, the system will automatically place a PO (Purchasing Order) for the complement.As a result, while running the system demo, the model with the 3 full loop systems are integrated in the Spare Parts Management System for an American Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. It scientifically achieved at the objective of managing the spare parts use & inventory control in semiconductor industry.This research is based on JMP as the main tool for statistic analysis, as well as consolidation of the theory & practice, it achieves at the model and system for spare parts management, this model scientifically solves the problems in semiconductor manufacturing industry on spare parts inventory quota optimization, the quality control & supply chain management, and it demonstrates the effectiveness and functionality by the data analysis, further more, it contributes to the semiconductor companies for the spare parts management.
