Integrated Circuit (IC) is the general name for semiconductor components. Since the invention of the first integrated circuit of the world by Texas Instruments in 1958, a new industry emerged-IC industry--with the rapid technological development.S company, founded in 2000, with headquarter in Shanghai, China, is the largest IC Foundry at present. But owing to the global economic crisis, as well as other key factors influence such as policy, market, labor, fund, technology and intellectual property, etc., unprecedented change is taking place in IC industry, which has also brought great threat to S company. How to attain well-balanced and sustainable development has become the major problem for S company.This thesis analyzes the strategic management of S company based on the status quo of IC industry as well as its current management.This thesis is composed of four chapters:Chapter 1-The development history and status quo of S company. This chapter reviews the industrial background and S company's development history, and illustrates the current situation of S company, then points out the major problem and development bottleneck.Chapter 2-Analysis on internal and external circumstances of S company. This chapter firstly outlines the strategic management of S company. Based on the ideology of SWOT, it analyzes external macro-and micro-environment by applying PEST model and Five-Force model respectively. Lastly it analyzes the internal circumstance.Chapter 3-The strategy selection of S company. Based on the analysis in the previous chapters, this chapter puts forward SWOT analysis matrix, then proposes the overall strategy and competitive Chapter 4-Strategy implementation and control. This chapter proposes the strategy implementation and control in the aspects of building the enterprise culture, financial management, human resources management, sales management, and technology management, etc.This thesis points out the problems that hinder S company from sustainable developing, and the competitive advantages that S company possesses, in order to make full use of the internal and external resources. This thesis also proposes some suggestions for the well-balanced and sustainable development of S company.But due to the limited time and knowledge, there would be some errors and careless omissions. Corrections and suggestions are highly appreciated.
