| Event economy has been for long time, but there was not enough concern for it, especially, the product economy had developed very rapidly since the Industrial Revolution, becoming the main form of regional economic development. Nowadays, the historical process of industrialization has been into the late period, while the process of information is in fast progress and knowledge-based economy in the ascendant, in this background, the event economy is highlighted and playing an increasingly important role in the regional economic development. Therefore, in recent years, all regions have competed for mega-event more and more intensely. And there is in fact that mega-event can bring great value of tangible and intangible to the space where the event happens, being a great opportunity for regional economic development. Along with the unceasing thorough of Chinese reforming and opening up to the outside world, the socialist market economy proceed to grow , people's living standards continue to improve, the event the economy is also rapidly rising. In 2008, China successfully hosted the Beijing Olympic Games, and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo has kicked off, and Guangzhou Asian Games will be on the stage of history at soon, while the Davos Economic Forum in Dalian, Qingdao International Beer Festival, Hainan Boao Economic Forum as the representative of the class event to show the strong vitality and broad development space.It should be said that an in-depth theoretical research into event economy has assumed vital significance in application, and it is a new topics on face of the regional economic theory and practice. However, it is so limited that the research on the theory of event economy ,and the current research is mainly on the special event activities, scattered among the theory about event tourism, event industry, event management, event marketing and so on , still stay in micro-analysis on specific cases and specific sectors .what is the event economy studying for? And what meaning are the event economy and the related concepts? Such as these based questions, the academic circles have not formed the same view. Still more how is the economy of events playing role on the development of the regional economy? And what is the working mechanism behind? The answer about this from academia even less, and most of them remain in the empirical analysis of specific cases, they did not excavated the abstract economic theory from the phenomena. There is no uniform method of research and analysis, nor relatively perfect system of economic theory of events, therefore so much work needed to collate and standardize the study and research.From the above-mentioned questions, these theses try to explain the event economic theory as a whole from the macro level, combining with the regional economic theory to analyze the event and their economic impact. First of all, research about the topic will be summarized and discussed orderly. As a review of the perspectives of philosophy, at the same time, the author will make analysis of the event, event economy and related economic concepts deeply; several sets of vague concepts popular over the theory world will be classified and systematized, trying to form a certain system. Second, there will be comparative analysis of the event economy and the product economy, and a discussion about how the event economy to achieve its economic effective. Again, the essay will discuss the relationship between the events and the regional economic development, trying to draw a conclusion on the internal principles and the effect mechanism from the event economy. At last, the author will suggest some policy recommendations on how to use the event to develop the regional economy.
