The shortage of employees that hit all Chinese enterprises in 2004 has attracted countrywide attention, this employment gap in 2010 is increasing. It directly affects the operation of enterprises and economic development. Such phenomena, which reflects the institutional discrimination in farmers' job market, the deficient government supervision over the labor market and the serious waste of human capital, deserves our introspection. This thesis, which discusses the institutional discrimination encountered by farmers looking for jobs in cities and analyzes the "shortage of employees" phenomena in the process of urbanization in China, puts forward several suggestions. These proposals, including improving the employment environment of farmers looking for jobs in cities, building up the social security system for them and ensuring education of their children, are to protect farmers' legal rights and interests when they work in urban areas. |
