Zhejiang Hailiang Co., Ltd is a Joint-venture for copper and copper alloy tubing, fittings and rods processing. Since its founding in 2001, the company is committed to the research & development, production and sales of high-grade copper products. It is one of the largest producers for copper and copper alloy products covering the most wide range of product lines in the industry in domestic market. With the high speed growth and the great expansion of the company, the business risk and management are also being challenged. Plus the fierce market competition, the influence of state macro policy adjustment, and short of raw material supply etc, the company also faces many problems, such as price fluctuation of the copper price which make it hard to control the production cost, the shrinking of import and export scale due to the policy change, the appreciation of the yuan, and also the less speed of the increase of the net profits etc.although Zhejiang Hailiang Co., Ltd still holds many advantages as its advanced management system, technology and solid financial strength. Therefore, it has become the main topic of Hailiang to improve and enhance the core competence, to better realize its internationalization strategy and to bulid a century Hailiang in the long term.The paper takes Zhejiang Hailiang Co.,Ltd as the research object, with its development process as basis, using the method of comparative and systematic analysis, giving the detailed analysis that the position of Hailiang in the industry. Combined with the theory of core competence, and the article is to find out the new ways of developing the core competence for the company. Based on the analyzing of the existing competence of the Company, the articles further uses SWOT to analyze the enterprise resources and gives out some strategies and recommendations for improving and enhancing the Company's Core Competence for the hope that it can give some guidiance for the future development of Hailiang and also benefit other companies who are working on the same topic.
