Lean Production In Wuxi Beneficial Applications And Practice

With globe economy integrating, dividing work and cooperation becomes more and more important. The globe commercial conformations present many forms. EMS, Electronics Manufacturing Services, is one of the most important forms. EMS'60 percent business comes from the top five companies.This dissertation focused on how to apply the Kaizen-based Lean Production to improve production efficiency in SeaStar Company, which is a mid-sized EMS company. Taking EBC production line as example, it was dissertated systematically of CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) activity by which EBC line was analyzed and optimized in layout, material flow, process flow, line balance, SMT feeder prevent mistakes, manufacturing execution system, and pull system etc. It improved key performance index of Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service, Moral and Information. Thereafter, many wastes and non-valued added works were eliminated, WIP (Work-in-Process) and MCT (Manufacturing Cycle Time) were reduced greatly, the material model of one piece flow was realized almost. With information technology, ERP system, MES system and traditional Kanban be used to push Wuxi seastar to attain Lean Production.Meanwhile, an idea of PDCA improvement cycle has high reference for same EMS manufacturing enterprises to implement lean production.
