| X-company is a private company engaged in environment protection projects. In recent years, the management of X-Company is suffered from the problems existing in its performance management. Its ineffectiveness has already made impacts to the corporate management standards and the activeness of the employees. To build an effective performance management system which can really push all the works moving forward, is becoming an urgent task for the company.Performance management is one of the important parts of enterprise human resources management system. It seizes the core of enterprise human resources development and management, and builds a scientifically reasonable performance management system in accordance with private companies' practices, with the ultimate goal to revitalize their internal distribution system, fully motivate the employees' pro-activeness and creativity, and improve the enterprise competence. Thus, it helps the corporate strategy be fully carried out in employees' daily working practices and improve the ability of both the organization and the employees to push forward the execution of the strategy through continuous performance communications.Metric organizational structure is considered more suitable for the current situation in the environment protection industry, in which project departments are very important for execution. In each project department, project managers are the leaders and key to the success of projects, and should take overall responsibility for the whole process. Therefore, performance management to project managers is of great importance. Based on this theory, according to the current performance management to project managers in X Company and the needs for strategic execution, with the reference of thorough study of and summary to the theories of performance management, the thesis makes precise analysis to the current situation of X Company and finds out the existing problems in their original performance evaluation system. In addition, with the application of modern management theory and considerations of successful experiences in other companies and the actual situation of X company, the article provides an overall idea on the design of performance management system for the key project managers in X Company and an execution plan, which comes to a set of preliminary performance management system in accordance with the characteristics of private environment protection companies. In the performance management proposal designed in our study, KPI (Key Performance Index) is regarded as the core of performance evaluation. Corporate development strategy is expressed in KPI, and at the mean time, the evaluation of KPI in project departments is considered as an important part in the performance evaluation to project managers. The purpose is to closely combine project managers' individual performance with the organizational performance, so as to lead project managers to focus their personal performance efforts on the improvement of the organization's performance. As to the judgment on project managers' individual performance, the standard of their performance is to be quantified, and analyzed and studied in a dynamic way, to make the result of performance evaluation more scientific and reasonable. |
