With the economic globalization and the rapid development of the knowledge economy, the competition between companies gradually changed from the competition of the physical capital to the competition of human resources. In order to adapt to the dramatic changes in the external environment, the company’s organizational structure has become and many activities of the company’s organized by projects. The project manager is the person who directly responsible tor a separate project, and his performance has a direct impact on the success or failure of the project and the economic benefits of the company. Therefore, the performance management for project manager has got to the central position of the human resources management. But in many companies, due to the lack of performance appraisal system for the characteristics of the project manager, it is difficult to make the performance appraisal system play its value. A company is a high-tech enterprises in the growth stage. It is a knowledge-intensive and capital-intensive business, and the project team is the main work form in A company. The project manager plays a key role in the enterprise. His performance related to the success of project and the customer satisfaction, or even directly affects the company’s reputation. Through the analysis of A company’s performance appraisal index system found that the index system has many problems as follows:performance appraisal goals not conform to the strategic objectives; identify indicators of performance appraisal lack of scientific comprehensive; the period of performance appraisal is not reasonable; performance appraisal communication and feedback mechanisms is imperfect, and without a sound performance appraisal regulations. To solve these problems, this paper is based on theoretical knowledge of objectives management, key performance indicators, and a360-degree performance evaluation method, and combined with the development strategy of the A company and A company project manager job analysis, built a performance appraisal system for project managers in A company. This paper aimed to in order to play a guiding role in improving the performance of the company’s project manager.
